Bravery is the audacity to be unhindered by failures, and to walk with freedom, strength, and hope, in the face of things unknown. Morgan Harper Nichols
Was my body where I wanted it to be? Not even close. But it’s done some incredible things and it should be celebrated. If I’m totally honest, I booked my shoot fully anticipating that I would not like many of my pictures, which had absolutely nothing to do with Steffs work. After booking my shoot, I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the perfect outfit. The one that hid this, tucked that, covered there. I felt defeated and I most certainly did not feel sexy. I also felt like I had lost who I was.
There is power in sexuality and sexual exploration. There power in being overt? Absolutely! Is there power in being demure? Absolutely. Is there power in the display of sexuality? Absolutely! Is there power in being chaste? Absolutely. What you want has power, what you are motivated by has power and all I do as a boudoir photographer is to give you PERMISSION to take back your power.
I want to give you the same level of work that you see here and on our social media platforms. I can pose your baby toe and show you how to literally move one tit to get you into the all sorts of extra position to flatter all of those bodacious curves and direct you through your facial emotions like we are making a run for an academy award; but if you want to talk about it feeling silly or dumb or how you hate your face, just know that your body isn’t my first and it might not even be my first of the day. I have photographed over 200 women just this year.
No woman is immune from insecurities. Fears come in all shapes and sizes. From feeling like your body isn’t worthy to feeling like you haven’t brought anything nice enough to wear. I said it in one of the videos, every woman is afraid she is going to be the one that this doesn’t work for. That she will be the woman who will be unphotographable (that isn’t a word so it isn’t a thing that can happen), the woman who just wasn’t good enough, the woman who should have stayed home.
Couples boudoir. Yes, it is a thing. No, you aren’t weird for being curious. Bonus info, I happen to specialize in couples boudoir. In fact, half of our shoots are of couples. Because intimacy, sensuality, sexuality are all completely normal aspects of healthy relationship this isn’t weird at all! As a divorced woman, I […]
My sole motivation for the boudoir experience was to give it as a gift to my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary. See, no matter what age or what life experience I was going through, he always thought I was beautiful. Pregnant, really pregnant, right after delivery, as I age, when I cry, when […]
