So you finally did that thing you’ve been promising yourself you’d do something for yourself for ages and now you want to to make good on that promise to yourself? What are you going to do??! Book a boudoir shoot, that’s what! Here are five reasons why this is an excellent idea:

I don’t think you can either hate yourself or love yourself to a point of returning to health but I do think you can work on accepting where you have a weakness, like being kinder to your body or appreciating your body and progressing forward from there.

You’re a bride for one day. A wife for hopefully forever but undoubtedly you are a woman who deserves to feel beautiful and celebrated infinitely. I don’t want your photos to only be about a moment in your life, I want them to be a celebration that you can enjoy over and over!

I run my business the way I would want the experience laid out for me. I would want my shoot and my product separate so I am not buying something I don’t know if I would like. I would want the best fucking makeup I could get my hands on. I would want a photographer with experience. I would want the booking process to be pretty seamless. Jess worked her butt off to get online booking up and running so if this idea comes to you in the middle of the night and you want some details, you don’t have to wait for one of us to wake up and email you back. A bunch of information is in your inbox in a matter of minutes.

Some of us “girl” pretty damn hard on a day to day basis. Others, not so much. Keep reading for some tips to help make you feel confident and prepared before you walk into the studio for your boudoir shoot.

Nerves are present for everyone. That isn’t something that you can let go of so easily. They often set in the minute you book your shoot; I hope to get rid of them within minutes of directing you through your first set! After the first 20 minutes breeze by your nerves will be a thing of the past!

Steer clear of clichés. Pass on the white corset. Fuck the pearls. White stockings? It’s not 1987. I have a different spin on bridal boudoir. I take more of a portrait approach to ensure there is a clear line between for the wedding day and the rest of forever images will be showcased in your boudoir album.

There is power in sexuality and sexual exploration. There power in being overt? Absolutely! Is there power in being demure? Absolutely. Is there power in the display of sexuality? Absolutely! Is there power in being chaste? Absolutely. What you want has power, what you are motivated by has power and all I do as a boudoir photographer is to give you PERMISSION to take back your power.

I want to give you the same level of work that you see here and on our social media platforms. I can pose your baby toe and show you how to literally move one tit to get you into the all sorts of extra position to flatter all of those bodacious curves and direct you through your facial emotions like we are making a run for an academy award; but if you want to talk about it feeling silly or dumb or how you hate your face, just know that your body isn’t my first and it might not even be my first of the day. I have photographed over 200 women just this year.
