We understand how important being prepared for your boudoir photoshoot is to you. Whether you are a new boudoir client or returning, we understand that there will be questions. Sometimes, scrolling through our backlog of posts on Instagram will answer them. But we want to compile a list to help you find answers to our client’s most frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered here, please reach out! We are always wanting to ensure you not only feel your best self when you book a shoot with us, but are as prepared as possible for your boudoir experience with us.

1. How many outfits should I bring for my boudoir photoshoot?

The answer to this question is not always easy. I recommend purchasing more high quality lingerie. Unfortunately, high quality means that it High-end lingerie photographs better, is often more flattering and versatile. If high-end lingerie is not in your budget, don’t worry! Bring as many pieces as you would like, and I am happy to help you choose the best pieces to fit our beautiful studio. Check out our website or socials to get a peek into the studio and choose your color palette to complement the colors in the studio. 

As a bonus, the best outfit is the one you were born in. Yes, we shoot fully nude if you are comfortable with it. The nudes are often our clients’ favorite shots of their session.

2. What if I don’t know how to pose during my boudoir photoshoot?

This is one of my favorite questions. 

Posing is an art form, but not nearly as difficult as it seems. Though some poses I put you in will be challenging, we can modify them to work with your body. I will even get in the poses to show you exactly how the pose should look, as well as coach you into the poses as I shoot. 

Don’t worry, I won’t let you look stupid. The goal is to have fun and push yourself out of your comfort zone a little. Confidence comes with hard work, and I know you can do it.

3. Do you retouch photos?

Cameras are sophisticated. I retouch photos, but not with the intention of editing out who you are. At the GFE, we aren’t taking off ten inches or ten pounds from your photos, rather smoothing out parts of your images that are emphasized because of lighting or angles. As Pittsburgh’s only dedicated boudoir studio, I understand the lighting and angles best suited for my studio. When you come in, it’s to be photographed by a professional with over ten years of experience. My job is to make you see how beautiful you are, inside and out. I will give you the best photo experience possible.

4. Do you share my images?

I would love to!

That comes with a big caveat, though. I will never share images if I do not have your permission. We have a waiver for you to fill out if you want your images shared on our website or social media. You will be able to leave your face out of the images, or to show it off loud and proud. 

Either way, we will not pressure you into signing the waiver. Only you can know what you are comfortable sharing, and we do not take your privacy for granted.

5. Do I need to get my hair or make-up done for my boudoir photoshoot?

Yes. Included in your pricing is hair and make-up. The camera takes away thirty to fifty percent of your make-up, and we hire only the best artists with an insane knowledge of how make-up photographs. Plus, what is a boudoir experience without getting into character first? Allowing us to work on your hair and make-up gives you time to relax, settle into the experience, and get excited about your time to shine.
